Stage Directions: A number of prominent companies in the industry will be looking for potential new employees to join their teams at USITT 2018. Exhibitors from all facets of live entertainment will soon fill the Stage Expo floor and they are encouraging attendees looking for career opportunities to connect with them on LinkedIn prior to the Conference. By linking your LinkedIn profile to your USITT registration, you can be visible to exhibiting companies and indicate the types of opportunities you would like to be matched with.

Although I have never been to USITT, it seems to be a very magical place. I often see other students going to career fairs or internship expos, both at Carnegie Mellon and at other conventions. It is always something I felt that non-drama students have a lot more interaction between themselves and post-graduation opportunities. USITT seems to be the biggest platform for theatre students to have this interaction. In addition to having many employers seeking out candidates, it is also fabulous to have a place where very different people evaluate your interview material such as cover letters and resumes. Although we do get a variety of opinions here at Carnegie Mellon, I would love to see the perspective of employers who see hundreds resumes each hiring season and are not accustom to the "CMU style" that sometime prevails in a homogeneous fashion here. I am not going this year, but I look forward to going either next year or my senior year.
