This was a pretty interesting article. I initially was just going to read it to read it, but I saw something that made me want to comment. I saw some really clear, easy to read, easy to understand graphics. I must say, I don't come across those too often. This graphic shows the WLL of a shoulder eye bolt and how it changes when the load acts at different agles. Usually, structural charts are dense, complex charts that you need extensive training to read. I looked at this image for less than a second while it was really small on my screen and it made complete sense. I know that sometimes with engineering specs, there needs to be more information than can clearly be presented, but I think manufactures and others who make these charts could strive to make them a little easier to read. Beyond liking the graphics, this was a lovely little article. It gave some general information that I knew, and some general information that I didn't know. I am glad I read this because not only did it teach me something about eye bolts, but it reminded me that there are still a lot of things that I did not know I didn't know. If you asked me 10 min ago if I know everything about eye bolts I might have said yes or pretty much everything, but now I know that isn't true.
