Women of ‘SNL’ Invite You to Their Sexual-Harassment Hell

www.vulture.com: Hey there, boys. SNL’s ladies know it’s been a hard few months with habitual male predator after habitual male predator after habitual male predator being taken down in the public eye. But you wanna know a little secret? Women have been dealing with this forever! So next time you hold a little vigil for the demise of House of Cards, think of the following things that never cease to give women anxiety: Parking. Walking. The general night time. Hotels. Vans. Ride-share companies. The occasional street cat.

I truly love SNL. The fact that the video included a "joke" about Matt Lauer is great, though NBC has also been covering his ass for years, so it's kind of interesting that they are so open to discussing it now, but that's besides the point. I saw this video when it first came out, so I decided to read some of the comments on the video this time around, which I knew would be infuriating, but I did it anyway. I saw at least five comments using the phrase "not all men" in the first thirty seconds, and I saw a very lengthy comment that started with "Yeah it must be hell being actually valued by society, and not a disposable utility like men are" which is just not even the point of this video at all. I think it's incredible how despite all of what is coming out about these men in power, and just men in general, there are still so many people that choose to turn a blind eye to what is happening to women every single day.

This article was too short and lacked some context that I feel would have been helpful! The hulu link isn't working but I think it’s supposed to be linked to a sketch. It does open up an important conversation however. I haven’t seen this sketch, at least not in a while, but it is probably making light of the situations that women face every day regarding safety and the parts of every day that make it a little harder to exist! It is sad! But it is true! I really would have liked to watch the video or see me attachment in this article, but this small blurb alone makes me think about What it means to be a woman and the situations many women face everyday and the continuance of looking out for my own and other women's safety
