In Memoriam: Garry Stuart Foy, 1956-2014
Stage Directions: Garry Stuart Foy, son of Peter and Barbara Foy and longtime flying consultant himself as well as a sound engineer, died Feb. 26, 2014, in Las Vegas. Born into a theatrical family, Garry was involved with theatre for the majority of his life, with stints with Lido de Paris at the Stardust, as well as flying Sandy Duncan in Peter Pan on Broadway and on tour. He was Flying by Foy’s president for a time and was instrumental in the development of the creation of the world's first self-contained radio-controlled flying system. Before his passing he was serving as relief soundman for the Las Vegas Hotel (LVH) and working as an independent consultant for flying and special effects.
