CMU discontinues Culbertson’s 70-419
The Tartan Online: When Carnegie Mellon released its Fall 2014 course listings last Sunday, some Carnegie Mellon students noticed that something was missing — 70-419 Entrepreneurship Practicum: Apprentice, a course taught by Robert F. Culbertson, adjunct assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the Tepper School of Business.

I haven’t been here for very long, but it seems to me that the School of Drama wouldn’t discontinue a class without at least consulting their students. Why shouldn’t every other department operate the same way?
That being said, this article is pretty unclear as to whether or not the class had any educational value that fit within the scope of the curriculum for that program.
I understand also that the school is trying to rely more and more on full time faculty and less on adjunct faculty, but that being said, full time faculty are just that, faculty. Adjuncts are often much more likely to be in tune with the real world as they spend most of their time doing what they actually teach.
What the dean says is true. He ”cannot crowd source running this business school.”
