Dance preview: Trocks drag humor onto dance floor
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Whether you're a lover of ballet or just a lover of laughter, the all-male comedy dance troupe Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo promises it has something for you.
Since 1974, the Trocks, as they're more casually known, have pas de bouree their way into theaters and hearts around the world with their unique blend of professionally polished classical ballet and drag art.
"The audience is coming to have a fun time," says artistic director Tory Dobrin. "They're not necessarily coming for the dancing part. They're coming for the comedy part, but what we do is we give them both."

so much perfection in one article.
It's a great way to attract both men and women to their performances which is great. not to mention men on pointe!! whenever I see that I am amazed and immediately want to watch it! also, I just love what they're doing with their company; putting dance and fun into one and making it seem effortless and exciting and vibrant. This is actually something I hope to see one day and hopefully soon.
I had the opportunity to work on a production of this down in S Florida a few years back and it was one of my fondest memories in theater. It is not exactly a criticism on sexism in the world of ballet, but it does successfully show that roles normally portrayed by women can also be graceful when men are the ones in the pointe shoes. It is humor mixed in with serious moments that ll come together to create a very enjoyable and memorable experience.
