As traumatic as it was for The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company to get hit by hurricane Irene, they are not letting it hold them back, well at least not for too long! Unfortunately on August 27th their current playing show, Saint-Ex, had to be shut down due to irremediable damages from the storm, but staff and volunteers are already hard at work in re-building or as they have announced, a "re-imagined" version of Saint-Ex to be performed for public. It is great to see and hear about this kind of camaraderie that brings people together who all share the same passion for this incredible art form. I have high hopes for the rising of The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company, and I know with all of the support from patrons, volunteers, and the community they will be back in business in no time.

They are planning to open today which seems like a very optimistic plan for them. They are saying that they would need things in the basement of the theater, like costumes. If they had a fly house why didn't they just put them on a batten and fly them out show even if the deck got folded the costumes would have possibly been fine and with the piano in the trap or pit why didn't they try to get it to at lest the deck so it could have had a shot at making it through the storm. I have heard of the deviation that occurred when this hurricane hit. I worked at the install of a lighting package on the Hudson River across from West Point and they had pipes that are now u's and trees that had fallen. I hope the best to everyone that was involved in this event.
