Alarming Developments In Wake-Up Tools Have You Rising On The (Slightly) Happier Side Of Bed
Fast Company: If you own a smartphone, it's easy to gaze at an old-fashioned, single-purpose alarm clocks and conclude it doesn't do nearly enough. But rely on that phone as your alarm clock, and you're at the mercy of drained batteries, software crashes, and daylight savings time. So what other options exist for a forward-thinking, sleep-loving day worker?

We are always trying to figure out the best ways to get ourselves out of bed in the morning, especially since we are a society that is not getting enough sleep. There aren't very many people who are actually excited to get out of bed in the morning (I know I hardly ever am), so we will spend lots of money on anything that seems like it would make the experience a little less unlikable. I am a big fan of having a radio alarm go off first, which lightly rouses me from my sleep, and then fifteen minutes later having the really obnoxious beeping that makes me want to throw my alarm across the room, not always the most enjoyable way to get up.
If it wasn't $60, I would totally go for the WakeMate. I like that it wakes you up at the optimal time based on your sleep cycles, seems like the least offensive way to be woken up. Of course, though, we could just try to get enough sleep and then waking up wouldn't be terrible!
The Wakemate seems like a great idea and would work great in the idea. I would love to uses it for a few nights and see how well it would works. I have learned about rem sleep and how it works and I have used it when I have sleep for a short amount of time like 90min to 3 hr. I just question how heavy it is and how it would inhibit you from sleeping. All of the other things that they are suggesting seem like just a bad idea or something that I would not be interested in using or looking further into. I will defiantly be looking more into the Wakemate and possibly getting one.
