Students collaborate on terrifyingly fun web series, _Zombie College Musical_
The Tartan Online: "Spring fever is in the air. However, this spring, the fever or swine flu should be the least of students’ worries. Instead, they should start looking twice at their fellow classmates for signs of blood or rotting flesh, because Carnegie Mellon has been infected by Zombie College Musical.

I think that this is a great project for the students who are working on it. Taking their passions and creativity and applying it to something they enjoy is wonderful. Not only are they doing something they enjoy but it also extends to many other people and is something everyone can enjoy. Anyone can be involved which is also great. This is definitely an ambitious project and is paying off.
I love Zombie College Musical! I think that it is such an awesome project, especially because so many students are involved from all over the school. Its always so impressive when we can see what others are capable of. Its nice too because everyone is from different majors, everyone benefits from the tools and materials available to them that they might not have known about before. I am really interested to see what and how this project develops. Its also a cool unique resume credit for everyone involved because they can explain what it was how it was developed and then they can still show it to them on the internet. I think more of us should be inspired to try things like this.
I'm a huge fan of Zombie College Musical. A ton of my friends are involved in it and I re-watch the episodes when I can. It really is a great idea that these students have and the fact that they are taking advantage of all the equipment and talent that we have here on campus is great! I just wish I had gotten involved in it sooner when I saw posters for it at the beginning of the year. I had no idea the potential that this had. I also like that anyone can still get involved and they are stretching across all majors to make something different and awesome! I wish them luck and hopefully one day I can help out and join the team!
Its nice to see an interdisciplinary project at CMU. We so often hear how we should do them more, but as Welmond said, we are all so busy. Its amazing how so many people from so many different backgrounds can collaborate. It makes me wonder why it is so hard for a theatrical production team to collaborate at times. If they can do it without experience, then we should be able to do it with ease. I am sure they are some rose colored glasses on for the article, but still. I wonder why there is only one person from drama involved. We have many assets we could contribute, if we had the time. I do enjoy the Zombie musicals. I hope they have more success and continue to make people laugh.
this is a very cool idea, its reminiscent of the national zombie days which have been becoming more popular in cities world wide. i wonder what causes the obsession of people in our age group with zombies. It is cool to see the public projects eg. theater which are used to express this interest in zombies. it seems to have the ability to unite people across majors, and across the campus. its great to see people come together for art.
I sixth the statements that this is a fantastic project, but what I find even more interesting is the emergence of zombie related musicals! There's Zombie College Musical, Evil Dead the Musical, Zombie Prom. This genre is practically exploding! I don't know if it's a good or a bad development in the American musical theatre tradition, but it certainly is a fascinating mixture of two completely opposite genres.
I'm a little disappointed that in the list of colleges and people associated with this film there is a serious lack of SoD folk. Sure, we've got a couple of kids in the cast, but there's no one producing or crewing this piece. I don't recall if there were any fliers or sign-ups posted around Purnell; I can only assume there were and I never took time to notice them (as I assume most of the rest of us here did). I think it's great if other students who are into film of any sort can do so but I wonder at the lack of SoD people either removing themselves or not being invited to participate.
