'Sirens of TI' cast enjoys camaraderie

ReviewJournal.com: "Fireworks are to Vegas what the fat lady is to opera: Once you see them, you know the show's over. And as white sparks shoot into the sky above Treasure Island on a recent Wednesday night, hundreds of people crammed in front of Sirens Cove take their cue and leave.

This was an interesting insight to this show. the article caught my eye because I saw the original version of this show when I was very little and it was one of the coolest things I had ever seen, I was disappointed when I went back in middle school to find out that the red coats had been replaced with scantly clad women. Regardless, the show is a feat of automation and pyrotechnics and I was surprised to see so many of the cast members coming to the show without any sort of theatre degree.

I agree with Jackson...I was really upset when they decided to make this show (and all of Treasure Island, now TI) trashy. I remember the old one was really awesome, and no parent would have had reservations about taking their kid to see it. I think the show still serves a versatile audience because of the pyrotechnics and other effects, but I hate that it is no longer family-friendly. That's happening to most of Vegas and I find it really upsetting. I think that the Vegas market may be losing some money from families because of it. Anyways, I really do admire the work that goes into doing this show four times a night. It's important not only that the performers and audience members stay safe, but also that the show is consistent. There's no room for messing around with such a quick and complex turn-around. This article reminded me that there are so many shows on the Strip that need technicians, managers, etc. There are more opportunities there than just the big ticket shows.
