Photo call: Closing night for the Denver Victorian Playhouse

The Denver Post: "The Denver Victorian Playhouse's days as a live theater effectively ended with Saturday's closing performance of 'The Field.' With it will go one of Denver's most distinct and storied live theater venues, as well as a century of local stage history.

I am simply amazed that a basement theatre in a residential neighborhood like this has lasted a full 100 years. Of course I am disappointed that a theatre is going under, but it is not an uncommon trend for the small houses with minimal seating capacities are the first to go, and someone. I can see the operating expenses what was formerly a residential home being rather high to consider continuing runs.
