Last movie in 'Batman' trilogy to be filmed in Pittsburgh

Post gazette: "Sorry, Twihards. Taylor Lautner coming to Pittsburgh was big, but Batman's bigger. Confirmation Tuesday that 'The Dark Knight Rises' will film in Pittsburgh this summer triggered a wave of emails, phone calls, tweets and Facebook posts from people wanting to be extras, work in any capacity (gaffer, grip, go-fer), supply equipment or stand on the sidelines and watch the magic happen.

I personally am extremely excited about this. i know this is just a single film coming to pittsburgh, but its a huge film and a large franchise. the more large scale films coming to pittsburgh the more large films will be made here and the town will hopefully grow on this. recently large budget films have been filmed here but not on the scale that the dark knight is and not on the budget either. most of the films which recently came to pittsburgh were films who didn't have a large franchise already behind them so you can expect media coverage and many union jobs to hopefully grow out of this and hey, more money for pittsburgh.

Yeah hopefully a large scale production coming through will open some doors for later films to come to Pittsburgh and shoot. It looks like the arts tax credit thing has worked itself out nicely. I feel like many small cities fit the same bill that Pittsburgh does, so luckily it came here. Though it does sound like people are already flooding for jobs from the film, even some CMU students. But yeah, large feature films in other cities are cool. So why not Pittsburgh?
