'Amish Project' pulls humanity from horror
Post Gazette: "'The Amish Project,' the one-woman show that opened Friday at City Theatre, deals with one of the most horrifying events in Pennsylvania history: the 2006 shooting of 10 Amish schoolgirls by a local milkman who then shot himself. Five girls died, and the Amish community in Nickel Mines, Lancaster County, surprised many by extending forgiveness toward the gunman and his family. In short, 'The Amish Project' is no frothy entertainment.

its interesting that the amish community offers so much support even to the gun man's family. I also like Ms. Dickey's process in the creation of the show. It stands out because the characters are not real characters that were based off of real interviewed people. Its not a documentary. Its a perspective not just about the shooting itself, but the community and their reaction.
