I think this is a really nice tribute. I loved Patrick Swayze, and think he was one of the really good guys left in Hollywood. (he was married for 34 years for goodness sake!) It is a big loss for the industry, both acting and dance. And I am glad that dancers honored him.
I think the charity that threw the event is very cool: helping dancers when they can no longer dance. For most, it is probably what they have done all their life, without a backup. And then they are suddenly thrown out due to injury with no one to turn to. And thats where the charity comes in. I am sure Mr. Swayze supported them in his life, because it just seems like the type of thing he would do. it helps others know who to turn to and what to do.
