Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: New mega balloons get set to soar
New York Daily News: "Four new giant balloons — Spiderman, The Pillsbury Doughboy, Ronald McDonald and Sailor Mickey — debut at the 83rd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Although crowds will see them for the first time on Thanksgiving morning (or at the balloon inflation event the night before), it takes months to design and launch a giant balloon."

I have never seen the Macy's Day Parade in action, but the photos I have seen show production/design on an immense scale that it must be extremely difficult to coordinate the testing and design of these balloons. I'm sure it isn't perfect the first time they inflate it. It doesn't surprise me that there is an entire company based around the production and implementations of these balloons for a single day every year.
On a more personal note: I would probably watch the parade if they would do the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
