16 years later, 'Only Me' comes to fruition with help from friends

i know musicals take a long time to create, from idea to stage, but 16 years seems like an awfully long time. I was also a bit confused about storyline. Is it the autobiorgaphy as it relates to the two couples interactions? Why wait until they came back? I'm not sure, but overall the show seems really truthful and something I want to see.
