BBC NEWS: "The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has launched an appeal to raise £1m in public donations to help rebuild its main theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon."

The people that the money to build a theatre tell you allot about the motivation for building the theatre. An example is the Colosseum was build with the governments money to political reasons. It seems like the people rebuilding this Stratford theatre want the local people to feel like they are a part of the process. This would foster a feeling of loyalty to a place that relies on people coming back to see shows
