Improve Your Writing with these Editing Tips
lifehack.org: "Teachers, business people, and just about everyone else it seems complain often and loudly that people today (usually “kids today”) don’t know how to write. I’m convinced, though, that a big part of the problem (perhaps the biggest part of the problem) is that people don’t know how to edit. We labor under the notion that good writing flows easily from the pen or typing fingers, and that editing too much will “kill” our work."

All these tips are things that we have been taught since we began writing. It would be good to learn these when we are younger so we can develop good habits that would make our lives easier.
Avoid passive tense!!! Tenses are a huge issue with me. I change tenses about as often as I change my socks, which is unusually often. That combined with my tendency to be too wordy sums up most of my writing issues. However, I do edit, which is helpful, and I continue to force myself to do so whether or not it is considered a "fun time". Some of these tips, such as reading word by word backwards to check for spelling, seem really helpful, and I will try to employ these tricks in the future.
