Broadway hit at its most profitable time of year

globeandmail.com: "The Broadway stagehands strike may force at least two shows to postpone their openings, including the season's highest-profile play, as observers are predicting the industry may be in for a long and costly dispute before shows get back on the boards."

maybe this was wise of the stagehands to choose to strike now, a time when the producers are the most desperate for their work.

This being the most profitable time of the year, the producers are losing the most money, which clearly is not a coincidence. I'm hoping they finish negotiations by wednesday, because I'm planning to see a show that is closed by it.
