It sounds like a fun show, sorta random that it is starting out in Florida since I think it is a show that would work well in New York, but oh well. it also seems like a good subject for a musical and definetly allows for a lot of dancing. I be excited to see it if it comes near me.

I would be really excited to see this show. I heart Ginger Rogers, like whoa. Her influence female dancers who want to be more than a ballerina has been incredibly significant, especially today with the lack of movie musicals being produced (though they're definitely on the rise again after Chicago's best picture Oscar).

Unfortunately, I don't know if the audience for this story is broad enough for it to ever be produced in more than a regional theatre setting...in an area with an abundance of senior citizens. But hopefully...*crosses fingers*

I would have loved to see this new musical, but my work schedule didn't allow me to fly down when tickets were available. I'm hoping that it comes to an off-Broadway venue.
Nearly everyone has heard of Ginger Rogers, even if many people are not too familiar with her life. Her story of standing up to the male producers and directors in order to get her fair share is a story that is all too relevant today. (After all, we have yet to elect a woman VP or President). Set amongst the glamour of Hollywood in the Golden Age and peppered with wonderful Porter, Kern and Gershwin tunes - what's not to love? I am not a senior citizen and I think Ginger was an original with quite a bit of talent. After all, she could not only dance beautifully, she could sing and act as well.
I hope the show gets good reviews and is taken on tour. If it's anywhere in my vicinity, I'll be there.
