I liked this article, but I felt it was a little vague. I agree with all the points it makes, however "avoid suspense", how so? What does that mean? Avoid regular meetings with no agenda...while this is a good idea, it can't always be done. Sometimes pointless meetings must be suffered through. However, overall this article did a nice job in pointing out general tips on how to avoid these meetings.
I think the best tip for this was to schedual somethign critical just after the meeting because you will finish things knowing that the meeting just can't drag on. However this could drastically backfire if you don't get everything done because then you don't have a time and you've just had a pointless meeting because now you have to come back and work again.
Something we could all use - especially with production meetings looming in our future. I don't think it's necessarily avoiding meetings, but making sure every meeting you attend is productive. An agenda is very important. If you're not in charge of the meeting, you can at least make a list of what YOU think needs to be accomplished at the meeting. If a topic is reached that you KNOW will not be resolved by the end of the meeting, say something, and move on. So find the purpose, and follow through.
