It may be interesting to look at this review after the CMU production of Guys and Dolls goes up. Perhaps there may be some similarities with this review and the reviews that will be published about our production. Hopefully the design critique will be better. Not that it matters if we are the same or different than Toronto. Just a thought.
Aww...poor Ivan. Well I guess this can help CMU with what not to do for next years production of Guys and Dolls. I have only seen the film and that was quite a while ago, but I can still see how the guys lacking in the quailties the author names and definetly bring down the show. Well, hopefully they can learn from it and improve.
I saw a production of Guys and Dolls a year or two ago, and the "guys" were stronger than the "dolls," a reverse from this production. Although the problems with the costumes could be blamed on lack of time or money, I dont really find too much of an excuse for poor color choices in lighting.
