California city often a Miami stand-in

Yahoo! News: "s Long Beach, Calif., the new South Beach?
As far as 'CSI: Miami,' 'Dexter' and 'Nip/Tuck' are concerned, it is. "

This is interesting to me especially because I really thought that most of it was shot in Florida. I knew that CSI New York was shot in studio city but I didn't know that Miami was based here too.

this is the prime example of the power that film/television has.i am sure ryan will agree when i say that "Hollywood" is not just in Hollywood, CA, but really in all of southern California. Television and film have so much money that rather then actually flying to the location they need, they find it easier to just find a location in Socal, shut it down, and change what they need to there. i guess it makes it easier to get the actors who live in L.A. and surrounding areas to go somewhere in california, rather then the actula locations.
