The 8 Principles of Having Fun
lifehack.org: "SlowLeadership.com came across an interesting site defining the 8 principles of fun, at eightprinciples.com. It’s a site that is so in love with a few simple rules to enjoy life more, that they’re selling screensavers and things promoting them."

While not all of these should be followed all of the time, these tips are certainly worth following when you need to enjoy yourself. People just need to be themselves. They will be much happier and feel less worried about perhaps people finding out the real "you." Selfishness and not following the rules definitely needs to apply sometimes, but not always, because it can get you into trouble. Definitely - people need to not take things so seriously. If you just relax and enjoy life, it will be much better than being uptight and worried all of the time. Besides being miserable, you will not be doing your best, and your life will not be fulfilling. Getting rid of crap is also good - and can be refreshing. Stop being busy - this is also a conditional one. Every once in a while you need to just take a break - take it easy, or you'll drive yourself into the ground. Start something - doing something new - or something you've been wanting to do can be so rewarding. Definitely worthwhile. And DEFINITELY - stop worrying what others think. If someone is worth your time, they will like you for who you are and what you do. If they don't - don't worry about it, or them. It's not worth your time. So get out there - enjoy life - have fun.
Recently I had a conversation about the whole “being yourself” idea, and I think it really does pertain to a more relaxed lifestyle. However, if you focus too much on this idea, it will drive you absolutely crazy. So while it is a key part of having fun, don’t over think it. If you pay less attention to what other people think and more attention to yourself-part of the whole being selfish idea-you will have a much easier time relaxing and enjoying life.
