Schumer Sponsors Tax Relief Bill for Artists

Backstage: "If the bill passes, it would allow actors earning up to $30,000 to not only claim the standard deduction, but to write off all of their performance related expenses—such as headshots and transportation to and from auditions—as 'adjustments to income,' rather than having to write these expenses off as itemized deductions. In 2005, the standard deduction was $5,000."
