'Pirate' sets sail on Web cruise
Variety.com: "On Sept. 12, the Web site for the upcoming Broadway tuner 'The Pirate Queen' produced a live webcast that kicked off the show's 'castcom' -- three-to-four-minute episodes that chronicle the musical's backstage progress, edited into ongoing story arcs, a la reality TV."

I just sat down and watched about 4 of these castcom things. http://www.thepiratequeen.com/castcom/
When I read an earlier posted article about this reality tv meets production/rehearsal process, I was disgusted by the idea. However, after sitting down and watching some of the footage, my opinion has changed. The people who are talking on the video seem to be very excited about it and do a wonderful job of hyping up the show. However, the video footage makes me feel that this musical is SO GIGANTICALLY commercialized that i wouldnt even want to see it as a peice of good theatre. (however, its technical aspects look like a good time)
