Lorca play in Madrid canceled after death threats

Yahoo! News: "Spanish writer and actor Pepe Rubianes called off a planned performance of his play 'Lorca eran todos' ('They were all Lorca') after he received death threats amid bitter recriminations from rival political groups."

I understand the realistic aspects of cancelling a play because of death threats, but the overall concept of limiting art based on the lack of acceptance in a community eliminates the purpose of art in the first place. Theatrical theorists such as Augusto Boal and Brecht might agree. (I guess i learned something in that ridiculous Interp and Argument class)

its sad that people cant let themselves be open to theatre, in the end its only art. i say that the writer should take his play somewhere else and try and get it produced.
