Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Pittsburgh native Billy Porter will take a timeout from Broadway to appear at the Benedum Center Aug. 4-9 in his Tony Award-winning role as Lola, the stylish drag queen of “Kinky Boots.”
“I’m thrilled to be returning to the place where my life’s work began and to share the fruits of my labor with my Pittsburgh family,” said Mr. Porter, who was named best actor in a musical for the show that won six Tonys, including best musical of 2013, and also took home the Grammy Award for top cast album.
