I haven’t seen the new Planet of the Apes movie, but by the sound of it I should, Andy Serkis sounds like he played the part really well, embodying what and how the ape moves. The sensors that they use for this kind of movie making, I think you could most certainly make it interesting for just about any movie. It definitely helps transform a role into what it’s supposed to be. I think by doing it like this than just trying to put a cgi figure into the movie, gives you something to work off of, rather than trying to come up with gestures that might not be the most reactive. I think the controversy of the article or at least the comments with the article, are whether or not he should get best supporting actor or actor in a leading role. The controversy is, is it the role or the multiple people that brought the character to life responsible for the award. At this point, may the best man win.
