We are in the middle of an arts reformation!

The Pink Line Project: A call to action from arts advocate and revolutionary Ben Cameron, who says we are in the middle of an arts reformation not unlike the religious reformation. Both fueled by technological advances, both redistribute culture, both take away the intermediary between man and the divine experience. Pay attention!

I LOVE this speech. Besides being a spectacular speaker, Mr. Cameron makes an incredibly convincing case for Theatre to be the leaders in civic engagement for the coming years. His statement that we are in the middle of an arts reformation- something that will lead to even better arts issues- is invigorating. And I agree with him. However, I don't think people are hearing him. We haven't been making the massive changes that go along with a reformation, and we need to or we may lose the arts industries (symphonies, operas, etc) all together. Let's keep asking ourselves how to expand where we are now, how to engage the new groups, and how to influence this new world.

"If you're not anxious, you're not thinking about change"
