Controversial opinion but i am not a fan of the alien sheik no corners all modern aesthetic seem to possess. I understand the sphere concept and why that particular building and design has no corners as it is spherical nature is in its name. what I do not understand is why nursing homes, hospital, colleges and restaurants all have the same design aesthetic that looks like it comes out of a modern alien ship. I have seen this on cruise ships and in hotels over the past couple of years. All of the furniture and designs feel sterile and most of the pieces that we interact with ending up uncomfortable and not functional for the sake of aesthetic. Physiologically I feel that there designs create environments that make you uncomfortable which is counterintuitive when industry like hotels and nursing homes have the goal to make people feel more at home in an unfamiliar space.
