I love reading articles like these. To me, it is always interesting to see what different people like when it comes to a specific tool. Beyond what brand they like, articles like this provide information like what features people look for, what they think about the functionality of these features, and what price points make sense to them. While I was not shocked by the number of Klein tools that made the list, I was surprised that there aren't more brands like Wera or Knipex. Knipex made second or third options, however, I was expecting it to make first at least once. My favorite pair of electricians pliers are Knipex and I will defend them beyond all. I love that they have the curved style cable cutters versus the straight blades. The other tool I was surprised with was the Irwin Groovelock Pliers wining over the Knipex Cobras. I have a pair of the Cobras and I love them...that being said, I'd like to try the Irwins.
These guys just love their tools so much it makes me giggle. The fact that they talk the way that they do, makes me think that there is enough regular readership that they are allowed to be kind of meta about it and make references about something that is happening throughout other reviews that they have done. I never really realized how many different kinds and types of pliers there are in the world. I just had a really good time reading the reviews and the humor within the review. They also seem like they have a very fond view on Klein Tools which I think is fascinating to read about. The sarcasm and other language aspects that seem to really help make this review easy and fun to read. I feel like I actually learned quite a bit from this review even though it is only just a review.
That was 20 minutes of my time that I am never getting back. My biggest takeaway from this article is that I am leaving the tool reviewing to these guys. They really will look at all the options and have opinions not only on what the best ones are but what each tool should be able to do. That is something I just don't think I have the time or patience for; however, since I am a person who is often in need of tools, I am grateful someone has the wherewithal to review every single type plier to find the best one in each category. Something that struck me within this, is that they use language implying a dedicated readership. I cannot believe that people who aren't actively buying tools or doing this homework assignment do that for fun. What an industry I've chosen, haha.
