Of all the things I have done in Chicago, seeing a Chicago Shakespeare production is not one of them. I think this is in part because I typically go there over New Year’s. I think this is a great step for Chicago. It is something I will be sure to visit. Hopefully, I can get a look at how their operations function. With an art scene as vibrant as Chicago’s, I can only imagine that this will do great things for the city. I haven’t been to Navy Pier in a while, but I can imagine the wear and tear on it over the years and this renovation is only going to increase its enduing nature. From the article, it seems that the improvements they are making to the space will make it an incredibly versatile venue. The fact that they are making it modular will make it versatile, but I’m sure it will have its own challenges. I’ll have to go and check it out.
