Three Acting Schools Get a 2014 Upgrade

Backstage: Before gadgets and Google made research and note-taking simple, students struggled to keep up with their teachers; nowadays, the growing necessity for performers to be able to create, produce, edit, and star in self-made content has institutions working to keep up with students’ needs. Changes in standards mean changes in the curriculum.

It is very interesting that other schools are expanding their curriculums. Although our department has less of an emphasis on film, I am happy that many platforms for design are included within pur curriculum. I believe a love of entertainment design can apply to many more venues than theatre and it is great that CMU fosters this understanding. I am curious how Juilliard's BFA students felt about the new MFA program. I appreciate the sentiment that talent and instincts are not directly tied to age.
