Backstage’s Guide to Getting to—and Around—the Major Studio Lots

www.backstage.com:If your audition is going to take place on one of the big studio lots, it’s super important to plan your travel in advance. The back lots are immense labyrinths with multiple entry points, littered with the desiccated corpses of actors who lost their way. You could be next if you aren’t careful.

I was visiting my cousin at Sony studios in Hollywood, and I distinctly remember the feeling of having no idea where I was. All I really remember is being led trough doors and always ending up somehow at an on-site cafe where Johnny Depp was having a coffee. And we went through New York and Las Vegas a lot. But I totally understand why knowing your way around before going (for an interview or whatever) is probably an excellent idea.

This is a brilliant idea. I have been to a few of the lots on the available list and they are a maze. They all have various points of entry amd security and you can go in one place but not another and park in one place but not another but only on Tuesdays and its all very confusing. So this is quite a helpful resource for not only actors trying to find their audition but techies trying to find the studio they're supposed to be in.
