Tom Stoppard’s ‘Arcadia’ Is Revived

NYTimes.com: "TOM STOPPARD, arriving in New York from London only a few hours earlier, had not yet seen a run-through of his play “Arcadia,” which is scheduled to open on Broadway Thursday at the Barrymore Theater. But he already had some tinkering in mind.

This is one of my favorite plays. I saw it performed in 1996 at Temple University. It has stuck with me for a long time. I am not the most literate theatre person but I have seen many of Tom's plays/screenplays and I can say I truly am a fan. I was in NY over spring break and walked past the theatre where this is opening. I was only there for a limited time and had tickets to Spiderman, Turn Off the Dark, in retrospect, I would have much rather seen Tom Stoppard's play. I feel the characters are intriguing and witty. I imagined that's how I would be if I lived in 1908. I see in the closing paragraph that Mr. Stoppard is planning on writing a play based on the subprime mortgage debacle of the last few years, I'm excited to see this work develop as I know a lot more about this crisis than 17 century English landscapes.
