See 'Carmen' in 3-D at local movie theaters
Seattle Times Newspaper: "A favorite opera comes to movie theaters — in 3-D. The recent Royal Opera House production of Bizet's 'Carmen' has been filmed in the new technology and will be shown during the month of March on 2,000 screens nationwide, including Seattle-area theaters; AMC Pacific Place downtown is scheduled to show the film on Saturday, Wednesday, March 13 and 15. Other theaters scheduled to run the film include Thornton Place, Lincoln Square, Bella Botega, Alderwood and Southcenter.

No. No. No. NO! Oh my goodness, why cant people leave it alone? Everything does not need to be in 3D! Especially a show as wonderful as 'Carmen'. Alright I know the MET has a subscription that live streams their productions. Now I think that that is really cool. I am not against seeing renowned performances on a screen, especially when its live streamed because that is just really cool. However, there is no reason to make an opera into 3D. Now if a show had a lot of flying over the audience they could make an argument for how it would be good to show it in 3D. But 'Carmen' does not have that, I do not see one valid reason for wanting to film this opera in 3D, other than someone thought 'Hm..lets try to make one more buck off of this show'. Fine. But the reason why I am so upset about this is, why does everything have to be in 3d now? It really doesnt make the movie that much better.
