Cutting edge computer graphics: a 22-year retrospective

Boing Boing: "This great Metafilter post by Codacorolla links to cutting edge computer graphics demos for all the years from 1989 to 2010. It's a vivid demonstration of the astounding rate of change in CGI, and a humbling reminder that this year's jaw-dropping CGI is next year's chunky, awkward crudity.

This is extremely interesting how far computer graphics have come and seeing the changes though out the years. I just wonder where this technology is going in the coming years and what might be happening to actors. Will they even be need in 20 years to come or is it all going to be computers in the TV, movie worlds. I think that the public will not like that and they will always want to have a physical person to relate to. But I think that we will see a movie in my life time that will not have any actors in it and seem like it is people that are doing the acting. If you have looked at Toy Story 1 to Toy Story 3 you see a lot of development in and the next jump is to develop the technology for people.
