Richard III to Invade the Chosky Theatre April 15-24

post-gazette.com: "Matt Gray, Assistant Professor of Acting, directs Shakespeare’s classic Richard III in a production he calls “a heightened modern reflection – not a realistic, historic, or representational reproduction.” Matt explained, “[Head of School] Peter Cooke approached me after the inauguration of Barack Obama and asked if I would be interested in directing a modern version of Richard III.” He continued, “We were interested in exploring transitions of power, pageantry, old political hatreds, and rivalries being re-ignited.”"

Though I am slightly spoiled by being at the school of drama, i really think this article could have presented so much more information about Richard. We've all heard the "heightened modern reflection" from Matt, but I wish this article could have delved into more thoroughly. I mean honestly, who is going to read this outside of drama and read "heightened modern reflection" and have any concept of the really intriguing concept that Matt and the design team have created. This article, in my opinion, does little justice to the very creative, intricate design process in Richard.
