Pilobolus, Rioult to highlight Dance Council's season

Post Gazette: "The Pittsburgh Dance Council again will concentrate on home-grown groups for its 2010-11 season, with four of the six companies coming from the United States. But executive director Paul Organisak is still certain this dance mix will bode well for both American companies and Dance Council audiences."

I like when the Dance Council brings in more international groups. I like Pilobolus and I think their work is beautiful, but I wouls be just as interested in seeing a lesser-know international act. I do hear great things about Ballet Hispanico, there was a documentary about them online that I really enjoyed. I'm sure their season will be great as always, but I hope next time they bring in some more variety.

I got to see Pilobolus at ADF a few years ago. They are an incredibly talented group, and they come up with some very creative and original work. With that being said, it can be a little too modern for some audiences. Back in NC, there were negative reactions to the group because of the nature of their work. The other groups that are on their schedule sound very interesting, and I like the range of styles that are available for the upcoming season. It'll be a very interesting selection.
