Hollywood Snubs Proposed Betting on Ticket Sales

Although I didn't understand more of the explanation side of this article, I think this is an interesting, but ultimately bad concept. Particularly with the point raised about "insider trading". Although being able to screen a movie beforehand does not directly correlate to shares being sold, it can provide people with an insight to whether it will be popular or not. I think that if this becomes reality, it would altogether change the reality of the film industry. Although many films do not live up to expectations, I support more traditional methods like advertising for promotion.
