Review: Lavish production sends ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ flying

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Each generation has its own iconic shows.
For those born in the mid-to-late 1960s, it's the movie 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,' which hit the silver screen in 1968.
Now in their 40s and with kids of their own, they're likely to get a kick out of seeing the national touring production of the live stage musical that's playing at the Benedum Center through Sunday.
The story hasn't changed."

I've heard great things about this production from classmates, but I am surprised that the production is running for such a short time! Perhaps will lengthen their stay at the Benedum.

I saw this production. I thought that technically it was a very solid piece. The automation work especially with the car was amazing (especially for a traveling show). The show was based in a fantastical world and the technical elements all enhanced this feeling. I thought it was solid, complete, and FUN!!!

I saw the original broadway production. Twice. And wow have they got money. There is all kinds of stuff going on. Animals, children, pets, and that insane car that does everything in every direction in the air. I'm curious to see what the paper work looks like on this show and how the company deals with traveling with such a huge crowd of stuff. The production in New York also had some really cool things flying over the audience and I wonder if the tour still manages to maintain that closeness to the audience.
