I love hearing about so many success stories that come from Carnegie Mellon. It's really inspiring to know that we are receiving the same education that has produced so many successful people before us. It makes me want to learn as much as I can while I'm here, so I can be just as successful.

i do enjoy that this article was more about our behind the scenes alumni more than the players. i knew we had some big names but i didnt know we were quite this impressive. i agree with brooke though, it makes things a little more worth it.

I'm glad that people recognize all areas in drama from art direction to acting and designing. When ever I tell people that I go to Carnegie Mellon they always reply that its a really good school. Most people know about the schools CS and engineering areas of the school and not so much about drama. This is to be expected because not a lot of people know about theatre training. But it just shows how impressive this school is in all areas of education even if some people don't know it.

As others before me have said this is very exciting that so many Carnegie Mellon alumni are beign recognized. It is even more amazig that they are beign recognized for the arts especially in the design and direction aspects. Best of luck to all the alumni!

What surprised me about some of these nominations is how recent the nominees graduated from CMU. It's weird to think that someone who graduated in 2004 is already making it big enough to be nominated, and it's nice to know that you don't have to wait 20 years to potentially make it big.

Its really encouraging to see CMU alumni doing so well in the world. And that not only are there performers being honored but alumni from design being awarded as well. It really inspires me to try harder in class. There are so many CMU alum out there that I've never heard of but who are doing great work, I wish we were kept more up to date on the alumni.

This is awesome! I feel so privileged to be pursuing an education here, especially seeing what alums come out of here. I'm already freakishly happy to be here and love this place, but when those late nights come around and we're all cramming in those Foundations assignments, its news like this that gives me a little push to get through. Congrats to all of the alumni!

I didn't realize the president of the TV Arts & Sciences was an alumni. He was rather personable during what is usually a rather painful part of the awards show telecast: meeting the president. Unfortunately, the CMU alumni did not pull out any major wins, but its cool to see that we were so well represented.

We are all told about "how successful people who graduated from CMU are", and it often feels like just a recruiting ploy, but it is nice to see some "proof". I don't really believe that people get where they do because of where they went to school, but how hard they work and how well they work with others. Sure, the name helps, but it's an extra push, not a crutch. There's also a decent gap of time in there, apparently nothing good came out of the program between 91 and 99.
