I'm actually really excited about this show. I really enjoyed the movies, and I think that it is a great project for the stage. It gives so much room for creative design in costuming and the props and makeup departments, not to mention all the other technical demands it could present. I'd love to be able to see this show, it sounds like a lot of fun!

Ok... so this is a bit off topic, but this is a blog and we can post what ever we want...

What is with the trend of turning movies in to musicals? Shrek, Wedding Singer, Legal Blond??? Can we not come up with anything new and creative?

Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie and there is some great potential for the produciton. But it has been done. Didn't they get enough money the first time around.

Shows like Rent were new. It may not have been a new story line, but a new version and fresh perspective. They are just now closing and it is time for the new big hit to come along. Where are the fresh ideas.
