"It was always going to be a crazy idea."
washingtonpost.com: "It was always going to be a crazy idea, good economy or bad economy. We certainly didn't know it was going to be a slippery slope. But it almost makes it more exciting and dangerous that it's more difficult now."

I think that it is important to start new companies. The only way to regain the economy and rejuvenate interest in the arts is to start on a small scale.
I agree with starting a ballet company with this country's present economic situation. However I think that there needs to be a new medium for entertainment that doesn't require people to leave home as much, encouraging them to appreciate art without spending as much money. So his website ideas I think will pay off.

Ballet is one of those genres that will never go away, but may never break box offices (well, maybe the nutcracker) at least in the majority of American cities. I think what is needed is not just new companies but a fresh take on the ideas and expression of the art. This young talent seems to be trying to push forward a litte more than most companies tend to. We need new variety in ballet theatre.
At least in our current economical situation, someone is willing to take a risk. Its hard enough to do when you have all of the money in the world and the right world economy to do it it. I say hats off and good luck.
If we failed to take risks at any time, then there would be very little progress or change in our industry or society. We need bold people to take these risks.
I think he is also smart to be paying attention to today's audience and incorporating his process and productions to this You Tube generation.
