Jerry Springer: The Opera

New York Times: "Oh hear America singing, citizens of New York, as you never have heard it before. Hearken to your everyday sisters and brothers — the lost, the lonely, the fetishists, the freaks — as their voices swell and meld into one common chord of longing: to be seen, to be heard, to be (oh yes) famous."

Jerry springer the opera. Wow, as soon as I saw this article I knew I needed to read it just to see wtf was going on. Apparently this has been really popular in London which I attribute to foreigners desire to make fun of us silly Americans. But seriously, I actually think this has more Broadway credibility than Shrek or Legally Blonde. Because it is making a farce out of American society and a television program centered around exploiting the most messed up Americans we can find.

Either the New York Times is nuts, or "Jerry Springer: The Opera" sounds like something I really would like to see. The idea of sacred music paired with profane everything else actually sounds quite appealing.

This sounds pretty amusing. I am sure it will widely appeal to many; at least as many as there are protesters. Why a show's worth is even remotely comparable to the amount of people it offends, I will never understand. Offending the audience often proves more effective not to mention much more entertaining.
