Productivity & Organizing Myth #9 – We need a lot of stuff!

lifehack.org: "Myth: We need a lot of material things.
Reality: We can succeed and be happy with very little stuff.

When we productivity pros hear a few phrases we pay attention because you are giving clues to your mindset. Do you say a version of any of these things?"

I think over the course of the last few years I've finally almost moved off of the neccesity for material possesions and really started focusing on the experiences life has to offer instead. Like, instead of wasting a bunch of money on some new gadget that will keep my entertained for a month or so, save the money and use it for (in this case) wushu. 10 years down the road I'll forget that gadget, but I won't forget the wushu.

I don't really value material possessions as much as I should. I am just not into that. Although this is partially a positive thing, it also leads me to not take care of my possessions as well. I absolutely despise shopping for things so that is probably part of it. Sometimes I even look at all I have and feel guilty for having so much, especially since some of what I have a probably rarely use. I think it is time for a spring clean-out, start this part of the year off with less clutter and more space.
