We had an actor that was "good" as far as the audience was concerned... However, his aclaimed skill fell short of actual raw talent. Instead of forming his own characters, he imitated other ... ACTORS. I lost a lot of respect for his ability as an actor when I realized he would just watch the movie of the show and copy that character... Harvey, Cabaret, To Kill a Mockingbird... all shows which he just rented the movie and copied it.

However, the audience never realized this and loved him as an actor... I suppose this certainly maid our shows better, though I do find it wrong...

As far as impersonating an actual person goes... don't all actors do this to some extent? We can't pull our emotions completely out of the blue - everything we do is based off/inspired by something...

I'm not sure where I stand on this issue... but as long as they aren't copying another person’s work, I find it more authentic and credible.

interesting thing to assert....its true that most of the forerunners have been impersinating but that is acting...acting to be someone else...its essentially the art of it...i dont think its fair to say that these actros dont deserve the awards or the credit for recreating such a charcter, afterall most of the characters in any work of art are inspired by real people...no one is unlike anyone else...to act is to impersonate...its the name of the game....bravo if they can make their performance seem like the real thing...
