Church wants Elton John concert canceled
United Press International: "Church leaders in Tobago are seeking to bar singer Elton John from performing at a festival on the island in April because the British star is openly gay."

And the church wonders why people are upset with it... It's understood that they dont approve of his lifestyle but to want to cancel a concert because they're afraid that it will spread like some kind of epidemic and "open up" the lifestyle they should have their speaking privledges revoked.
after reading that I am slightly amused because how stupid these people are. Elton John is considered one of the great artists of our time and these conservative people are letting something like his sexuality which has nothing to do with him being an amazing performer. Its just funny that these people want to stop from experiencing an amazing performance because they are so close minded.
I completely get why church officials would be upset about Elton John coming. His shows are, amazing music aside, hours of bright lights, over-the-top costumes and "homosexual ways" It is important to realize that with a lifestyle like that, whether or not we like it, Elton carries a very large social issue of today with him.
