Managing your career: Lessons from the theater

Post Gazette: "Steve Bailey, a veteran project manager at an insurer, has given presentations for two decades. He figured he wouldn't learn much last month when he and 11 colleagues attended a presentation-skills workshop run by Second City, the famous improvisational theater troupe here."

Things like this are fascinating to me because on one hand you have this amazing way to connect with people and help them do what they want to do but on the other hand you make it into a commodity and charge through the roof for it. It's interesting to read about the reactions people had and the changes that can occur from a simple critique. I was thinking the other day, actually, that this would be a cool meta-skill to learn since we all have these "nervousness" problems when we make presentations.
